Chocolate Words

Today I was in my room cleaning when I heard my daughters arguing with one another. This seems to be such a common occurrence lately. Two daughters have just gone through puberty and three of them are two feet deep! I love my daughters they are so precious to me. But honestly I hate when my daughters struggle with the changes that occur during their adolescents . One day they are so sweet and kind and the next day you swear there is an alien inside them!! Well you’d think because I have gone through this with so many other daughters I would know how to handle this situation. After all I am a seasoned, skilled veteran. I have been parenting for almost forty-six years, I can handle, this no problem. I go down stairs and start my investigation now I am in the middle...

Hospitality

Being a family of thirteen, I must confess we are seldom invited to share a meal in others home. It takes a gutsy, capable, energetic, and tenacious woman to entertain and serve our family. Well this week some one brave invited all the Garcia’s over to share a meal. When we walked in this lovely woman gave us such a warm and inviting smile. I envisioned we would soon meet someone who was exhausted from the preparation that she would just point to the food and say “there it is help yourself.” My heart felt this amazing excitement for what was to follow. She showed us to her kitchen and there were two tables set to seat us all. There was this beautiful and I must admit inviting fruit salad. This salad had all this fruit so perfectly cut with fresh berries in the...

Devils Pack

The other day we were watching a movie on animals from the Antarctica. It was so fascinating to me how some animals protect each other and some don’t. Then to watch the cleverness of the wolves how they move in packs in order to go against a big herd.  As I watched the wolves work together to take a bison down I was reminded of the enemy. The wolves came together then methodically each one started spooking the bison in hopes they would start running leaving behind a stray baby. They were purposely causing chaos. The Bison immediately covered the baby and became a shield and guarded it. Then the unthinkable happened one bison started running faster then the others and let fear take over and chaos began. In a few seconds they were all running forgetting their...

“What I Do?”

Today I was reading a story about a twenty five year old man who was being beat up by three fourteen year olds. Apparently this man lived in the same complex and the boys would pick on him as he walked his sister to the bus. The boys would follow him, punch him, and knock him down. One day they punched him down and as he tried to get up they kicked him to keep him face down on the ground. As he lied on the ground crying saying the words “What I do, What I do” they continued to kick him and stomp on him. “Why, Why” is my question? How can three fourteen year olds have such wickedness in their hearts to be able to repeat this offense not once but many times. Sadly the little sister would witness these heinous and cruel acts towards her brother, who was just trying...

How Great Is Our God!!!

“How Great Is our God” What a glorious and wondrous thought! Name above all names, The great El Shaddai. Our perfect Redeemer, Just King, and the Creator of love. He is the awesome King of Kings and Lord of Lords…. So the question I ask myself this morning is “Do I really share the good news about my Father or do I try to keep it to my self? Am I a wimpy Christian and cover up the truth about my “Great God.” Am I embarrassed at times to give all glory to the King of Kings? Look at the royalty in England we “oooh” and “awe “every move they make. Photographers do the craziest things to get pictures of the royal family just doing nothing of any significance. Our God spoke the universe into existence “that should really knock your socks off. “ Because we have dropped...
