Silly Goose

A few weeks ago my husband and I were asleep when suddenly our youngest daughter Sari startled us. Just as I was going to ask “Whats wrong honey”?  my husband  grabbed her hand and asked, “Are you okay?”  Sari  looked at him so seriously and replied “Im looking at you daddy“, It was so matter of fact. My husbands response caused my heart to skip a beat as I thanked God for this man. His reply was, “What is a beautiful princess like you looking at an old toad like me.” Her angelic response was, “Silly goose  because your my Daddy and I love you”  It was such a tender moment between them. Billy Bob

So many times as the mother of Special needs kids I have been baffled and confused. Recently as I was schooling my son I asked him a simple question. As he looked at me his beautiful blue eyes lit up and he quickly stood up with a smile that seemed to make him glow. This was for sure a “Kodak” moment. He answered my question and he was right on the button. I told his brothers and sisters to give him a hand and he proudly took a bow. He was pretty stinking cute!! Rewind

How many times have we turned a key to rewind a toy, music box, or a clock. I think of a music box I once had with a ballerina dancing so gracefully to a sweet sound of music.  I think of a strong confident toy soldier I would rewind for my son so he could watch it march forward as he goes into enemy territory. Or what about a simple old fashion wind up alarm clock that today are almost obsolete. Well today I couldn’t help but think how many of us look at our marriages like that. Why is it hard to rewind and remember the good things! So many marriages are falling apart and instead of trying to see “why” many just give up!!!
