Never have I seen a generation of girls including mine that are so concerned about themselves and what they have and what they want. Girls seem to want what others have including freedom at such young ages. So what happens they cultivate jealousy, anger, envy and pissy attitudes. In other words they just get mean when they don’t have their way especially during puberty.
Ladies this is the next generation and some of these girls will be leaders in church one day. If we are not being kindhearted and we walk around with a critical tongue how will our daughters be affected. If we don’t consider others more important then ourselves (especially our husbands) why would we expect our daughters to be nice to their siblings. Did it ever dawn on you how we talk to our husbands and treat them will spill down in their relationship with others.
Everything about Jesus was kind and good. He is our role model we need to follow his footsteps. As the woman of old we need to follow their example. We need to always be aware of those around us. We need to show kindness and goodness to one another especially to our family members.
12 Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 13 Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. 14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.
As a mom and a wife I fail daily and let my attitude get the best of me. I need to remember Jesus nailed my sin on the cross its a choice I make to sin with my tongue. My daughters are watching every move I make I need to be an example and lead them in a matter that leads them towards eternity. I want my girls to know “I too am entangled with sin” like them at times the strong holds pull me down. But the good news is Jesus is always there with his hand stretched always waiting to pull me out of the muk!
